… after a baking course a week ago I can not get enough of Zopf :-)The recipe for this airy butter braid is enough for 2 braids and tastes just heavenly.

Ingredients:625 g wheat flour (Zopfmehl), 100 g sugar, 7 g salt, 1 cube Germ, 1 egg, 250 g lukewarm milk, 100 g room warm butter, egg for brushing, almond sticks

How to do it?:

  1. Mix all liquid ingredients and germ, add the flour and process into a fine, smooth dough.
  2. Leave the dough in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Then divide into 2 equal parts and braid them into 2 braids.
  4. Place the braids on a baking tray and let rest for 10 minutes. Brush with egg and sprinkle almond sticks over it.Back time: 30 minutes at 180 degrees (hot air). Allow to cool after the baking time.
